It was from the appearance of owls both when flying and perched that various myths were born around the world regarding owls. No exception in Indonesia.

Some of the myths we often hear about owls include:

• A sign there is a ghost. When you hear the sound of an owl, many believe that an owl has appeared.
• The sound of an owl summoning spirits. According to this myth, if someone imitates an owl and the bird doesn't answer immediately it means that the person will die soon.
• A sign that someone is pregnant. If the sound of an owl is heard, according to this myth it means that around the place there are women who are pregnant (pregnant).
• Dream of meeting an owl. Having a myth about losing things by force (being robbed).
